Fitness and clothing

Please discuss your requirements when booking as we are often able to tailor your visit to address any mobility issues. We are able to offer experiences for people in wheelchairs or who are unable to walk far, when booking a private visit or a private group visit.
An alpaca walk is a slow walk, over about half a mile on a flat surface which takes about 45 to 60 minutes, with time to take breaks if needed. A farm tour may include a walk up a small hill on an uneven and stoney track, and into grass and sometimes muddy fields, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your safety and the safety of others is a priority for us. You must follow all instructions given at the beginning of the walk or experience. We reserve the right to refuse to allow anyone to continue on a walk or experience if they put themselves or others at risk. Alpacas can wiggle and kick for example, so it is important to stay away from the animals back ends.
You should wear appropriate outdoor clothing and suitable footwear (no open toe shoes or sandals, or flappy clothing). We reserve the right not to allow you to participate on the alpaca walk or experience if your footwear or clothing is unsuitable.
